The added value of sporting goods manufacturing industry accounted for 28.2% of the added value of the sports industry, an increase of 0.2 percentage points compared with 2021. In recent years, except for the negative growth of 8.1% in the added value of the sporting goods manufacturing industry caused by the initial impact of the outbreak in 2020, the other years have maintained a good growth trend.

This good situation is also displayed at the upcoming China Sports Expo. In 2024, the exhibition scale of the China Sports Expo has reached the best level in history, the exhibition area has reached 180,000 square meters, the number of exhibitors has exceeded 1,600, and the number of professional visitors has reached a new high, which is the common result of the sporting goods industry, and it is also a fresh proof of the development energy of all parties.

Various segments of the sporting goods industry also show many highlights, such as the significant expansion of fitness equipment, the rapid growth of ball supplies exports, and the rapid development of the sports ground material industry.

Second, the demand for sporting goods is continuing to adjust.

On the one hand, the number of national sports procurement projects in 2023 reached 9,172, and the procurement scale reached 17.805 billion yuan. From the perspective of the procurement department, government agencies (including the sports system) are the largest government procurement, with 4,109 procurement projects and a procurement amount of 9.149 billion yuan, accounting for 44.80% and 51.38% of the number of national procurement projects and the amount of procurement, respectively. From the specific project classification point of view, government procurement is concentrated in sports equipment, equipment procurement and sports stadium projects, in the new journey of building a higher level of national fitness public service system, national fitness "new infrastructure" has become the focus of all parties.
